Not all private insurance plans are required to cover these services. Check with your insurance plan or your employer’s human resources department to find out if your health insurance will cover these important services. The contact information for your insurance plan is usually found on the back of your health insurance card. The website for the Massachusetts Division of Insurance also has useful information about these behavioral health services for children and contact information for health insurance carriers in our state.

The Autism Insurance Resource Center can also assist families who need help figuring out their insurance benefits for behavioral health (even if your child doesn’t have autism). Visit their website or dial (774) 455-4056.
